Resident left fuming at ‘pass agg’ card ordering them to be quiet on NYE

It seems one disgruntled resident took matters into their own hands recently, in a bid to crackdown on noisy parties.

Ahead of the big New Year’s Eve parties that took place all around the world, they appealed for their neighbours to quieten down after 10 pm.

In a post shared on Reddit, a fed-up resident shared the card they received in the post in Houston, Texas – and dubbed them a ‘Karen’ over the request.

People were divided, with some understanding why the neighbour made this request, while others thought it was unreasonable during the festive reasons.

The card said: “Wishing you joyful moments, happy memories, and a very merry Christmas.”

But the message inside wasn’t joyfully received by all – as it said: “Dear Neighbour,

“As we are all well aware 2021 has been a very difficult year for so many in our neighbourhood.

“For some, it was a loss of job, for others a loss of income, and for many of us a loss of health.

“This holiday season we are asking each of us to come together by showing our kindness and consideration for these neighbours going through difficult times.

“It all begins by eliminating loud music and fireworks after 10 PM.

The card concluded: “The best gift we can give is a Silent Night.”

One of the receivers, who received the anonymous card, didn’t take it well, as they shared it on Reddit, and explained: ” Some Karen mailed these out to my whole neighbourhood with no return address. I doubt this will be effective.

They added: “Honestly most of the noise comes from the apartments about a mile away because they like to shoot fireworks during Christmas and New Year.

“Not sure why they sent the cards to the houses as I’ve lived here for 27 years and I’ve yet to see anybody pop fireworks or have loud music anywhere other than the apartments.”

People were divided, with one commenting: “While that’s a little out there I’m not really opposed to the message.”

Another agreed, adding: “Yeah, it sounds like some rude a**holes are blasting loud music and launching fireworks after 10 p.m. I guess sending a card is more “Karen” than calling the cops.”

“I’m kind of on Karen’s side here. If she was saying 7 or 8 it would be one thing, but 10 pm is a reasonable time to stop shooting fireworks and playing house shaking music,” wrote a third.

Another commented: “It’s a little pass-agg and it IS NYE but IDK….”
